Join hundreds of cycling enthusiasts for a weekend of biking one of northern Colorado’s best kept secrets: Rist Canyon. The pros will do it, and so can you by registering for the Citizen’s Rist Canyon Road Ride. This citizen timed ride is suitable for riders of all levels: feel the life-changing challenge of the 9-mile ascent to the top of Rist Canyon. Don’t worry, your adrenaline will keep you going!
Atop the canyon, take a moment and catch your breath with a free photo opportunity and preserve your triumph.
Next, you’ll descend the Buckhorn Canyon with its fields of wild flowers, small villages and historical areas. The valleys open up to scenic red canyons that give way to bright blue sky: landscape that can only truly be appreciated on the saddle of your bike!
Citizen Rides – Ride de Rist, fully supported Sag stations. All citizens are timed both days to give you the feel of the Tour de France. Be part of the action at your pace.
Day two: Rist Hill Climb finish! Citizens leave the starting line first, then the racing begins with all ACA categories to follow with the Pro 1-2’s finishing the 18.5 mile climb to victory for the King of Rist Canyon title. Spectators and previous rider/racers line the canyon to watch the pro’s battle it out on the mountain. Cow bells given out, and the Rist Devil will be on the mountain along with vendor tents to create rider/racer excitement as our own Tour de France unfolds in northern Colorado.

Day Two Rist Canyon Hill Climb
See how fast you can climb the 4,000 feet plus, 18.5 mile hill climb. You will have an exuberating feeling of mastering the mountain and seeing how your time stacks up against the best riders in the country. Don’t stop with just one challenge. Entries for both days qualifies you for the King of Rist Canyon Citizens Championship automatically. Riding both days gets you an additional special King T-shirt, and the first eight-fastest citizens riders win prizes.
